CALL FOR PAPERS
19th INTERNATIONAL FARM MANAGEMENT CONGRESS
21ST – 26TH JULY 2013 Warsaw Poland
Although a Congress is held in a particular country, the purpose of the Congress is to bring people together from around the world to discuss and debate issues, to share experiences and to learn from each other. The theme is “Transforming agriculture – between policy, science and the consumer”.
We are seeking contributions from any interested party and would welcome submissions related to the main congress theme and especially to the following areas of interest:
1. Coping with Policy Changes.
2. Environmental aspects of farming.
3. A place for small farms?
4. Transfer of Innovations and knowledge.
5. Challenges for food market.
6. Science and extension.
7. Developments in agriculture of Central and Eastern European Countries.
but any other topics will be considered which seem particularly current.
It should be stressed that the Congress Organisers are very keen to encourage “applied” or “practical” papers (i.e. not refereed) as these are a major focus of the Congress.
The Congress offers the opportunity to present peer reviewed papers and non peer reviewed papers, and you should indicate in which category your submission should be considered.
Peer reviewed papers are those that must be submitted in the usual academic format and be approved by a Scientific Committee before being included in the Proceedings. Non peer reviewed papers are not reviewed in this way. This paper type is designed to encourage farmers, consultants and others who want to present a paper but who do not want to go through the refereeing process. For both categories a process of selection will be used to manage the wealth of contributions in relation to the finite opportunities of the congress program. If your submission should be unsuccessful you may like to represent it as a poster.
In the proceedings, refereed papers are distinguished from non refereed papers and this distinction is made at the Congress so that attendees know whether they are attending a presentation about a paper that is refereed or non-refereed.
For those who do not wish to make a formal presentation there will be opportunities to make verbal contributions to the thematic sessions. There is also the opportunity to exhibit a poster.
Instructions for submission
Manuscripts for contributed papers should be written in English and not exceed 6,000 words. Papers should be submitted in Word format, and should have print ready diagrams and tables in the text. The deadline for submission of contributed papers will be January 31, 2013. Corresponding authors will be informed of the outcome of the review and selection process by April 15, 2013. The presenting author must register for the conference before May 15, 2013; otherwise the paper will be withdrawn from the conference program.
